"not sure what the last reviewer is on about - what do you expect for a fiver? Not exactly Hakkasan, but for less than a tenner you can have a feast akin to any of the best restaurants in Chinatown. Fresh vegetables, flavoursome noodle soups - perfect lunchtime spot."

"On a cold winter's day while battling infection, I had a craving for some spicy and warm Chinese food. Culture Grub did not disappoint. I'm not a huge white rice fan and I loved the option of having my chicken and vegetables sans sticky rice. So if your on the caveman diet,.."

"Had the pork & chicken with ' ' (noodles with sauce). The portion was large (for £6.50) and reasonably tasty. It came extremely quickly (didn't have enough time to read one news article!). Not the best noodles I've had but certainly the best I've had in the area (so ..."‎ ‎ - 14 Nov 2010

A good chinese that allows you to choose dumplings (grilled steamed or pan fried) and how you would like it served in soup etc...Love their crispy prawns and honey and herb tea - my only worry is their msg content as I always feel a bit queasy afterwards. Probably more to do with stuffing my face too quickly though.

Culture Grub is a really good Chinese - especially in comparison to all the standard chinese takeaways/restaurants.
At Culture Grub you get huge portions of really very good Chinese dishes and the service isn't bad too - very smiley!

Culture Grub is a great place for Chinese food! Everyone assumes the best of London's Chinese cuisine is situated in Chinatown but they are wrong!

The friendly atmosphere and brilliant portions are just the tip of the iceberg. I've been in here three times now and the staff are so super nice. The food is superb, great service and authentic taste too. Good to see Chinese people eating in here too, that always reassures me I'm in a quality Chinese restaurant.

A brilliant little place to eat - top marks!

Love this place!
This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants.
They serve large portions of good quality at a very reasonable price. The service is efficient and friendly, and they don't try and rush you out of the restaurant once you have eaten.

This is a smallish restaurant and gets very busy at peak times; there is a maximum of 4 place settings per table. One dish I'd recommend is the Treasure Rice. There is also a complimentary Jasmine tea available with your meal if you ask for it.
The restaurant is very close to Waterloo station and Southwark underground station.

Grub it up...
My partner and I love this restaurant. 'The Grub' is cheap with huge portions and there's a massive choice for vegetarians including soups (just ask the staff to make a dish veggie). The food is fresh and tasty and you even get free jasmine tea...
